# Organize with AI (OwAI)

> Local-first photo and video search and organization for macOS, Windows and Linux, with MCP tools for AI assistants.

The desktop app is free for local use. Local and remote MCP require permanent Cloud Access. Hosted inference and cloud indexing use prepaid credits. Cloud index sync stores metadata and embeddings, not original media. Remote read_media relays an on-demand photo or video-still preview only when the updated owning app is online with Remote media access enabled; this defaults off. open_media is a separate same-computer window action. The guides explain setup, permissions and command completion; they do not grant access to any user's library. Live MCP tool discovery is the authoritative API contract.
